I believe this is my Grandfather's birth record (from LitvakSIG).

I know the film is accurate because the text listing from the LitvakSIG database is correct. I think I'm on the right page.

I just can't translate the cursive Russian (the Hebrew cursive is way too faded).

Born in Vilnius on December 25, 1903. Not recorded until 1904. Full name is Khonon Tavshunsky. Father is Yosel. Mother is Sprintza.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I believe I can read Khonon in the last column where they record the baby's name.

Is there anyone who might be able to help translate the cursive?

Thank you for any insight or translation!

9/10/2026 3:01 PM Thank you so much! It looks like the right record. That is great news.

I have a little Russian from college, but there was no way I could read all that cursive or even effectively use an online translator with it being so faded.

Cheers!!
