The translated material will be available to all who visit the JewishGen website and the printed book will be available for purchase upon request from JewishGen.

This was originally published by The Govorover Societies in Israel, the United States, and Canada in Tel Aviv in 1966. The book with 512 pages was edited by Aviezer Burstin and Dov Lossovsky.

Key Audiences

The main audience for this book would be the descendants of those who lived in Goworowo, Poland. The secondary audience would be researchers/historians interested in the wide range of social, political, and religious information presented in a first-hand manner. The third audience would be the general reader who would be interested original source material of Jewish life of the era.

Project Importance

Making the memorial book available in English widens the scope of the readers. The Goworowo Memorial Book is a microcosm of the period, representative of many of the smaller villages throughout Eastern Europe. It is crucial for the current generation to understand history (life prior to, during, and after the Holocaust) so that they can understand the present, and make an impact for the future.
