Category: Translation - Hebrew Approval Date: 3/7/2012 4:12 PM Family Surname: Benjamin Country: England Town: London Date of Image: 1862	Click the picture to enlarge	We are seeking the Hebrew name (translated into English) shown in this page from a family register of marriages births and deaths of Lyon Benjamin, in the hope of discovering his father's name and any other relevant genealogical information. According to his English death certificate Lyon (died 1862) was born about 1779.

3/7/2012 4:32 PM	Yehuda (=Lyon) son of Benyamin (=Benjamin) meaning that the father's name is Benjamin. He died on 8 Adar 5622, Feb 8 1862, and was 84 years old.
3/8/2012 3:30 AM	[from Bea] Thankyou So, Yehuda ben Benyamin would be a correct expression of the name?
3/9/2012 6:05 PM	Yes, Yehuda (Ye-hoo-dah) Ben Benyamin (Been-yah-meen) will be the correct Hebrew expression. I doubt though that the same expression was used in the 18th century; my guess is, providing East European descent,that the first name was expressed as U-Dah, and the last name was probably Bin-u-meen.
