John Lowens lives in Point Lookout, New York
Jeanette Rosenberg, SIG Co-Director, Conference and Event Planning
Jeanette R Rosenberg OBE is a professional genealogist and a member of AGRA, (Association of Genealogists & Researchers in Archives). She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical Studies from Strathclyde University. A popular and knowledgeable Jewish/general genealogy speaker around the UK and beyond, Jeanette has researched at both German and UK–based archives.
Jeanette leads for JGS GB on Education/Mentoring, exhibitions, outreach and social media. She also chairs JGSGB’s German sig. Appointed GerSIG Director in 2009, Jeanette leads on IAJGS conference arrangements. She’s also the genealogy representative on the ITS Oversight Committee, strategically managing Britain’s copy of the ITS Arolsen Archive.
Roger Lustig, SIG Co-Director, Research Coordinator
Roger Lustig is the son of German Jews. His father, Ernst Lustig (z''l), began compiling vital-records databases over 35 years ago. Working with GerSIG and JRI-Poland, Roger continues this effort. He has visited various European archives and has transcribed over 100,000 vital records. As GerSIG research coordinator, he supervises the NALDEX (Name Adoption List Index) and Hessen Gatermann database projects.
He studied statistics in college and musicology in graduate school, and now works as a data-analysis consultant and also as a genealogist. His experiences with difficult data and old handwritten sources have assisted his work with Jewish records.
Alex Calzareth, SIG Co-Director, Webmaster
Alex Calzareth is a genealogist focusing on Southwest Germany, the Czech Republic and Southern Italy who began researching his family roots twenty years ago. In 2016 he became one of GerSIG's directors and joined the board of JGS Long Island. Alex serves as webmaster for both organizations. Professionally he is a CPA working in commercial real estate in New York City.
