Key Audiences

The main audience for this book would be the descendants of those who lived in Parczew, Poland. The secondary audience would be researchers/historians interested in the wide range of social, political, and religious information presented in a first-hand manner. The third audience would be the general reader who would be interested original source material of Jewish life of the era.

Project Importance

Making the memorial book available in English widens the scope of the readers. The Parczew Memorial Book is a microcosm of the period, representative of many of the smaller villages throughout Poland and Eastern Europe. Parczew is located near Lublin and many of its residents taught/learned at the renown Yeshivah in Lublin. It is crucial for current and future generations to understand history (life prior to, during, and after the Holocaust) so that they can understand the present, and make an impact for the future.

Estimated Cost

$9,000 quoted by the project manager to finish the book. Funding for the project will be obtained through a Parczew Translations Fund.

Timeline:

As soon as possible upon obtaining the funds.
