This was originally published by The Association of Lubartow in Paris in 1947. The book of 117 pages was edited by B. Tshubinski.
Key Audiences
The main audience for this book would be the descendants of those who lived in Lubartow, Poland. The secondary audience would be researchers/historians interested in the wide range of social, political, and religious information presented in a first-hand manner. The third audience would be the general reader who would be interested original source material of Jewish life of the era.
Project Importance
Making the memorial book available in English widens the scope of the readers. The Lubartow Memorial Book is a microcosm of the period, representative of many of the smaller villages throughout Eastern Europe. It is crucial for the current generation to understand history (life prior to, during, and after the Holocaust) so that they can understand the present, and make an impact for the future.
