Formation and Minister:	The chevra appears to have been formed by Rev. Avraham Goldston in about 1882 in his home, who appears to have served the chevra as reader and effective minister throughout its existence.^(iv)
Final Status:	The congregation probably closed in the mid-1990s.^(vi)

Local Government Districts:	Grove Road is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets,^(vii) created on 1 April 1965, and was previously in the former Metropolitan Borough of Stepney (established 1900) in the former County of London (established 1889). Prior to then, it was also within the former civil parish of Mile End Old Town (which was in the former County of Middlesex until 1889).

Goldston was still resident in the premises in the 1891 census but there is no mention of the congregation in the Jewish Year Book fist published 1896/7. ↵ (vii) The London Borough of Tower Hamlets, an Inner London Borough within the Greater London administrative area, was created on 1 April 1965 upon the merger of the Metropolitan Boroughs of Stepney, Bethnal Green and Poplar (all of which had been in the former County of London, established 1889). ↵ (viii) The former Registration Districts were Stepney, from 1 July 1937 until 1 October 1857; Mile End Old Town, from 1 October 1857 until 1 January 1926; and Stepney, from 1 January 1926 until 1 January 1983. Any registers would now be held by the current register office. ↵
