Translated by Theodore Steinberg
The destruction of Jewish Ataki, where our relatives and near ones were murdered, aroused in people from Ataki in Israel the desire to immortalize their memory. Several years ago, we decided to plant in their name a small forest (1,000 trees) in the Forest of Martyrs. There was a warm response. In a short time we gathered the necessary funds: more than 1,000 pounds. The work that followed, which was difficult because of the diffusion of Atakiers in Israel, was conducted by volunteers.
But we are convinced that we have not yet paid our debt to our martyrs. A group of active friends have therefore decided to establish a union of Atakiers that should continue the work that has begun and further accomplish this goal: to further immortalize the memory of our dear ones.
The duties of the union are varied, and their implementation will depend on the members who undertake them. We present to you now some proposals:
In order to realize these goals, we ask that you enroll in our union and inform us of your annual contribution, to the best of your ability.
We hope that you will join our ranks and organize your relations and acquaintances from Ataki. The more rapidly our numbers increase, the easier our work will be and the more rapidly it will be accomplished.
We ask that you respond to:
M. Slutzker, 8 Rambam Street, Tel Aviv
And send your contributions to:
Savings and Loan, Account 281, Nachlat Binyamin Branch
20 Nachlat Binyamin Street, Tel Aviv
Hearty greetings
M. Slutzker Y. Saliternik M. Gelburd
