Village of Bricket Wood
Bricket Wood, with a population of some 4,000, is a
village in the county of Hertfordshire in southeast England, situated
about 4 miles south of St Albans city centre and about 4 miles northeast of Watford,
lying just south of the M25 orbital motorway and just to the east of the M1, a few miles to the north of the Greater London boundary. It is
surrounded by a number of other villages, including
Abbots Langley, Aldenham, Bedmond, Chiswell Green, Colney Street, Garston, How Wood
and Park Street.
Bricket Wood is part of the local government district
(borough and city) of St Albans, formed in 1974 by the merger of the St Albans
municipal borough and rural district Harpenden urban district.
The Jewish Community
A number of Jews have moved into Brickett Wood and the surrounding villages in
recent years and a Chabad centre was established in 2020.
