Town of Epping Epping (population about 11,000) is a small town in western Essex, surrounded by the northern end of Epping Forest and just to the north of the M25 motorway. It lies about five miles north of the London Borough of Enfield and six miles northeast of the London Borough of Redbridge. Since 1974, it has been part of the local government district of Epping Forest, and was previously within the urban district of Epping, at all times within the county of Essex. Jewish Community Jews settled in Epping, partly as a spill over from the neighbouring communities in Woodford, Loughton and Chigwell.
