JCR-UK is a genealogical and historical website covering all Jewish communities and District of Epping Forest, Essex Epping Forest is a local government district in the county of Essex. It is situated immediately to the north of the London Boroughs of Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Havering, and therefore just outside the administrative boundary of Greater London. Epping Forest was formed in 1974, upon the merger of the urban districts of Chigwell, Epping, and Waltham Holy Cross and most of the rural district of Epping and Ongar, all of which were in Essex. The Epping Forest Jewish Community The Jewish community of Epping Forest is to be found primarily in the suburban towns of Chigwell, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill in the southeast of the District, close to the boundary with the London Borough of Redbridge, forming somewhat of a spill over from the established communities in the London Borough.
