Sukiskis

Translated by Shaul Yannai

In Yiddish, Shukishok

A Jewish estate in the district of Siauliai, 3 km from Saukenai. Before WWI, the estate covered a land of about 1,000 dunams (about 250 acres) and it was owned by a Jewess by the name of Rozental. During the period of Independent Lithuania, Sukiskis belonged to two Jewish brothers by the name of Rozental. About 10 Jewish families lived in an area around the estate.
