Previously, at Hill Street, Dorset Square, London NW1 (1911-1925)

Date Formed:

Established in 1910 by the "Jewish Religious Union for the Advancement of Liberal Judaism" (pre-curser to the the Union of Liberal and Progressive Synagogues), which had been founded in 1902.

Services had been held prior to the establishment of the synagogue, at various venues.

A constituent synagogue of Liberal Judaism (formerly the Union of Liberal and Progressive Synagogues)

1915 -   546 members (Jewish Year Book 1916)

1919 -   546 members (Jewish Year Book 1920)

1938 -   546 members (Jewish Year Book 1939)

Local Government District:

Both the above addresses (current and previous) are in the City of Westminster (a London Borough established in 1965) in Greater London.

Previously, such addresses were in the former Metropolitan Borough of St Marylebone (established in 1900), within the former County of London (established in 1889), both of which entities were abolished in 1965.

Registration Districts:

From 1 January 1902 - St Marylebone
Since 1 January 1978  - Westminster (which now holds the registers, see below)
