Notes & Sources ( returns to text above)

  • (i) This address first appears in the Jewish Year Book 2014 although the congregation's website referred to Zoom meetings.

  • (ii) Congregation's website.

  • (iii) From its first appearance in Jewish Year Books in 2001, the congregation was listed as a constituent of the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues (AMS) and has been classified as a constituent synagogue in AMS's annual reports from the filing of the first annual report in 2007 (which followed AMS's incorporation - it had previously been an unincorporated association) until the latest annual report, filed for 2017 (see note (vi) below).

  • (iv) Congregation's website, most recently accessed January 2026. To view a short profile of Rabbi Levy, hold the cursor over his name

  • (v) Congregation's website, most recently accessed January 2026. To view a short profile of Chazan Chernett, hold the cursor over her name

  • (vi) and (vii) Reserved.

  • (viii) Reports on synagogue membership in the United Kingdom, published by or on behalf of the Board of Deputies of British Jews (BoD) and which can be viewed on the website of the Institute of Jewish Policy Research. Click HERE for links to the various reports. In compiling the report for 2010, the size of membership of this congregation was inferred from 2005 data as it was not possible for the BoD to obtain the data directly.

  • (ix) These figures appear higher than the figures for the above reports and presumably include more than one member per household. See links to Masorti Judaism's annual reports.

  • (x) Charities Commission website, accessed January 2025. Clicking on the charity number of this will take you to the charity's former registration on the Charities Commission website..
