The Willesden Shtiebels

Willesden, London

Updated 16 October 2006

There were a number of Shteibels (small prayer houses, generally comprising a single room,  the congregants of which were generally ultra-orthodox and frequently the followers of a particular rabbi) in the Willesden area.  By 1988, these had all closed.

Willesden, in  North West London, was a municipal borough in the former county of Middlesex, and which in 1965 became part of the London Borough of Brent.
