Information Question
Category: Sharing Document
Family Surname: EISENSTADT
Country: Germany
Town: Berlin
I am continuing research into various members of the EISENSTADT family and am currently concentrating on my great-great grandfather Abraham EISENSTADT.

I am aware from the Berlin phone directories online that for a number of years he lived at (or at least was contactable) at 40/41 Oranienburger Str - see first picture.

On a trip to Berlin a few weeks ago I noted from the Neue Synagogue exhibition that this building appeared to also be used by the Israelitische Union E.V. - see second picture.

I'm thus wondering whether anyone has any details as to what the Israelitische Union E.V. functioned as. It appears to be some sort of general welfare body but I'm especially curious as to understand the links Abraham EISENSTADT would have had with this.

Many thanks.
