Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

3/20/2013 5:23 PM This goes with posting 26543. It is the top half of the back page of a loose paper I found in the military booklet I previously posted. I'm sorry I couldn't post it all together but the file size was too big. Any help would be appreciated. More to follow.

26563 Do you recognize?

3/20/2013 5:17 PM I am seeking the birth(maiden)name of my grandmother ETTA FISHMAN. She married my grandfather Benya/Benjamin in 1904. U.S. papers say she was born and married in Lush, Russia. I believe Lush is incorrect and it was Glusk, or Lutzk or something simiar. It is said she was a school teacher. She had 6 children. She died in Bobruisk around 1920-24. Benjamin and the 6 children came to the USA in 1925. My granfather's brother and sisters all lived in Bobruisk. View the post, there are no responses
