This is the birth record of my 2x great grandfather, Bernard Meyer. I believe that the surname of both of his parents was "Meyer." I would appreciate a translation from the French.

Many thanks,

Jed Brickner

5/20/2022 6:17 AM Dear Jed Brickner,

To the best of my ability to read handwriting from the 1840s,
the document attests to the birth of Bernard Mayer, born on 17 august 1846 at 5 am in Drachenbronn, legitimate son of Simon Mayer, aged 40 years, resident of Drachenbronn (dept Bas Rhin), businessman (commercant), and his wife XXXX Mayer, aged 32 years. also of Drachenbronn. There are two witnesses, both from Drachenbronn, but I am unable to identify unmistakably their names and professions (both are of the same profession). I am also unable to identify the name of Simon Mayer's wife, even after trying to match letters in her name with letters in other words of the document. There is some official testimony from the mayor's office, etc. Best of luck, Michael Greenfield

Do let me know if you want any further information
5/23/2022 4:48 AM not sure if this is of any value:
1. witness Michel Ungerer, 28yo, cultivateur=farmer? in Drachenbronn;
2. Henri Hess, 42yo, cultivateur in Drachenbronn;

for the mother of Bernard I would guess first name Judithe
