708. It came to pass on the first day of November in the year of eighteen sixty-five, at the hour of half past nine in the morning, in Warsaw. Appeared personally Hersz Herszkopf, a trader, twenty-eight years of age, residing at number 1796 at a letter A, and, in the presence of Josek Junghejt, a broker, thirty-five years of age, and Hersz Bigielman, a haberdasher, thirty-nine years of age, both residing at number 1024, presented to us a child of the female sex, born on the thirteenth day of September of the current year, at noon, at number 954, declaring that she had been born from Aron Eljasz Pinkwasser, a marker, twenty-two years of age, and Ryfka Hortblaj, twenty years of age, the spouse of the same, to whom the name had been given Laja. This act was read aloud and subsequently signed by us along with the appearer who explained that the father of the newborn was unable to show himself up personally due to his job while the delay in recording this act was explained as being due to weakness of the child. The witnesses could not write.
