I'd appreciate a translation of this into English, please.

It seems to a "talk of the town" anecdote in a chatty Viennese magazine like The New Yorker. I gather that it involves a distant relative of mine. Because of what I understand to be the fraktur German font it's using, I can't even decipher all of the individual letters so I can't use the sloppy but effective Google translator function that I generally rely upon.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Correction.
In the publications of the resignations in "Dr. Bloch's Wochenschrift" a few weeks ago, the name of the court official Isak Holdengräber from Kimpolung was also noted. In the last issue we reported his resignation. In truth, Mr. Isak Holdengräber did not resign from Judaism, but some stranger reported to the magistrate under his name and made the resignation declaration there, without the knowledge and will of Mr. I. Holdengräber. Therefore, he had no choice but to officially revoke his resignation.
