I would be grateful for a transliteration of the seven words that start with the word "durch" and ends with the words "gestorben ist".

From a Standesamt Death record.

Thank you
Peter

7/26/2020 5:04 PM I've never seen this one before.

It says "durch Kopfschuss den Heldentod gestorben ist".

Which means that he died a hero's death, having been shot in the head.
7/27/2020 2:24 AM Hello Peter,

this is an entry for a war casualty, "Heldentod" means he gave his life for the country.

What is unusual is the place of death: Grabow is in "Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" and I don't remember any actions of war during WW1 there. Perhaps it was an accident on the military training ground there?

Regards from Germany, Corinna
