There appeared today before the undersigned registrar for the purposes of matrimony:
1. Paul Julius Ludwig Hackbart, pharmacist [Drogist], identified by birth certificate, evangelical religion, born 8 March 1856 in Boissin, Kreis Belgard, living in Berlin at Müllerstrasse 22a, son of the late Ludwig August Gilbert, innkeeper, last living in Köslin, Kreis Köslin, and his wife Amanda born Hannemann;
2. Ludwig Olga Waleska Prillwitz, tailoress, identified by birth certificate, evangelical religion, born 18 December 1865 in Berlin, living in Berlin at Georgenkirchstrasse 60, daughter of the late Wilhelm Ferdinand Prillwitz, master tailor, last living in Berlin, and his wife Caroline Wilhelmine Henriette born Löwenthal, living in Berlin...

may I add the information that a marriage entry always consisted of two pages: on the following page you will quite likely find the witnesses - often family members with their ages.

"evangelisch" was translated with evangelical which isn't quite correct: Protestant would be the appropriate translation as the English "evangelical" refers to a "direction" within the Protestant church.
