3/22/2020 5:07 PM Here lies

the dear and honored [Rav] AVRAHAM

son of our teacher, the rabbi

Yehoshua Vasserman

died and was buried on the 24th of Shvat, 5680

May his soul be bound up in the bond of the living.

==============================================

There is an abbreviation before the name of the deceased that MAY mean that he was a rabbi; it is hard to be sure of the meaning of the abbreviation.

His father's name, on the other hand, is preceded by an abbreviation that definitely translates to "our rabbi, the teacher". However, I have found that this abbreviation was occasionally included in error, having been copied from another stone without its significance being understood. In order to determine his father's rabbinical status, it would be helpful to have confirmation from a second source.

The 24th of Shvat of the year 5680 began at sunset on February 12th, 1920, and ended at sunset on the 13th.
