This letter was attached to my grandfather's passport application in which he explains he wants to go to Romania to rescue his family. He translates several paragraphs in which they say they are starving. We hope to get the remainder of the letter translated. We are only guessing that the language is Yiddish.

…inform you about the following: to which the emigration …… ? have the right to travel to America. Record everyone, everyone register yourself there at the American consulate and receive on their Russian? passport a number, and have to wait until the number comes up for the visa. as they said to us we must wait… Of course it’s a very vile business, you might have to sit there several months, but they said nothing can stop us if we want it, and I think the same thing. One needs a lot of protection and a lot of luck, and then you can get everything.
You must send us your citizenship papers, I mean the papers that you are American citizens. That gives us the right to travel to you in America. It’s possible that one of you comes alone here to Bucharest.

On the left-hand page at the bottom it says:
Here I’m writing again our address. To which of these …. to send all your correspondence. Mother comes any day also to Bucharest and we will write to both of you together. Don’t send any more to Belz.

“Haias” for Liba Tabac

I've noticed on this document there is an oath of allegiance to America signed by Maria Theresa S....
I don't know what that means...
