2/21/2020 10:46 AM This is a letter from Moshe Lait (Morris Light) to his son and daughter-in-law, who appear to be in New York. Very small difficult writing, but I'll do my best. There are a lot of German words used.

Orla, 16th of February, 1910 Year

To my dear, faithful daughter-in-law Bozena Lait and to my son H..? Kalman Lait. I am, thank God, well! I was thinking that all the children have suddenly become angry (with me) and stopped writing letters to me, except for you. You used to write to me every month, and now I've waited 4 months until getting a letter from you. I wrote to the children about their aunt Toba who....

In the meantime, came a letter to …. ? from New York to Bialistok, and he wrote me in Orla, and said he spoke to my children in New York....the children said they wouldn’t send one penny to me. Since I haven’t gotten a letter, maybe it’s true. But then a few weeks ago I got a letter from Lazar Lait. He writes to me that it’s a lie, what that person wrote to me that I would not get a cent. I can’t believe it, but Kalman L. has just read the letter that was written to me, ….. what happened to them in America?

Here in Bialistok….. poor people. Whether they send me money or don’t send me money…..with God’s help I won’t be deserted. And if you can improve your situation…you should improve it, as it said in your letter.

Let me set that aside and write about something else. Today, February 16th, … Adar, is my birthday. I am sending everyone my biography that I have just briefly written. Please write me more frequently. Please give everyone the letter with the biography.

Regards to you, and to Kalman and to the children, from me your father, father-in-law, and Zayde!
