Darmstadt 1 April 1919
Before the undersigned employee of the civil record di attend today with the purpose to marry :
1 the medical doctor Otto Friedrich Cahn, known person, by mentioned witnesses, of Israelite religion, born 14 September 1892 in Ruhrort close to Duisburg, residing in Beerfelden, canton of Erbach, son of the trader Philipp Cahn and his wife Johanna born Grüneberg, residing in Düsseldorf.
2. the medical doctor Katharina Groh, known person by the mentioned witnesses, of evangelic religion, born on 16 January 1889 in in Neckarau close to Mannheim, residing in Darmstadt, Grafenstrasse 9, daughter of the private person Georg Groh and his wife Susanna born Groh, residing in Mannhein Neckarau

Darmstadt October 18, 1937.
By the law of 30 September 1937 of the main Court in Düsseldorf, the wedding between Otto Friedrich Cahn and Catharina Groh is divorced.
Accordance with the main register is approved on 22 October by the Nazi.

Darmstadt 29 October 1937
By declaration of the 21th October, certified by the notary, the divorced medical doctor Katherina Luhn, born Groh from Dusseldorf again took her earlier family name Groh.
Accordance with the main register is approved on 13 November by the Nazi.


11/7/2019 2:11 PM * May I give you the hint, that these marriage certificates alway consisted of two pages - the following page would name the two witnesses which is often quite interesting.

* Most registers were filled out three times - this is not the original but a legal copy of the main register (Hauptregister). The original register would bear the signatures of the couple and two witnesses

* Instead of "the Nazi" it says
"Der Urkundsbeamte der Geschäftsstelle des Amtsgerichts" meaning: the registrar ot the office of the district court - the stamp says Amtsgericht Darmstadt

Of course Luhn is wrong, must be seen as Cahn.
