I would be grateful for a translation of the Hebrew and especially for some insight into the father's name.

From other sources, the father, who was from Latvia, was named Teva, which I assume is a variant of Tevya.

Is this Tevr or Tevir though?

If so, I can't find that anywhere.

Thank you,

David

7/25/2019 2:05 AM The Hebrew is:
"Idel Bat R' Tavir."
My guess is that is a mistake and should have been
"R' Tavie".
7/25/2019 5:49 AM Although this woman's English name is Ida, I think her Hebrew name is probably Aidel, sometimes pronounce "Idel".
I think that probably the stone carver forgot the little leg that would have made the last letter a "heh" instead of the "resh" it appears to be.
Therefore I believe the father's name is either Tevya or a misspelling of the masculine name "Tuvya".
The stone carvers probably don't read Hebrew.
7/29/2019 2:12 AM The translation of the the name is: Idel bat Rav Tabir.

As to the meaning of the name i don't know.
