On  Response
8/30/2018 12:29 AM They're entries in the Budapest address books (like phone books, but with phone optional) digitized on Hungaricana:
https://library.hungaricana.hu/hu/collection/fszek_budapesti_czim_es_lakasjegyzek/

The transcriptions are uncorrected OCR, which always has particular trouble with Roman numerals like the district numbers. Both entries say that Menyhért [Melchior] Bierenkranz was self-employed and lived at rózsa-u. [Rose St.] number 9 in district "VH" (i.e. VII=7).

("Self-employed" is an approximation for _magánzó_, which is a now-archaic term for someone with no outside income or salary. It's sometimes translated as "person of independent means", but that implies a level of affluence that's not reflected in the word's actual usage: it often indicates retirees, and sometimes simply means "unemployed, out of work". It can also mean someone living off of investments or a family fortune who doesn't need to work, but in general, I think "self-employed" comes closest.)
