This is a postcard from Warsaw October 23rd 1940, the month of the establishment of the Warsaw Ghetto.

It is from Simcha Suknik to (most probably) his son Moshe who he had sent to Russia with the aim of getting the rest of the family out of Poland.

The postcard is in Polish:
Dated May 23, 1940 in Warsaw
Dear Children!!
On May 23 we received your letter of April 15, but I think you will soon get our letter that we mailed in April. It made us very happy as we have been waiting for it impatiently. Eve--there was only one letter from Moniek, and it was not a letter to us, but to her (sic!) parents. We did not get any letter. Eve, please write him, perhaps you will be able to persuade him to write to us. We wonder why Pani Ańdzia did not add anything from herself in the letter. A few weeks ago we were visited by Kuba's brother from the Świętojerska Street and he sends you his warmest regards. Eve, in a letter that you are about to receive, there is Ańdzia's writing, too, so do not think she has forgotten you, it is quite to the contrary... She asks you to write her whether her brother is together with sister, because they did not get any letters, or please give their address. All your girl friends send you warm regards. Good bye, stay healthy, regards from everyone with Leonek first of all.
