This document, from a researcher in Belarus, was sent to a cousin in 2009, and is supposedly signed by our mutual 5great-grandfather, Movsha son of Leib Kolpenitzky. He was supposedly a "kagalny" or leader of the Stolovichi Jewish community.

We would like to know what the document says. It should be in Russian. Thank you for any help you can give us.

On  Response
4/5/2018 9:26 PM Kagalny comes from the word kahal, the name for the Jewish community in a town (Russian has no 'h' and uses a 'g' instead). Movsha Leybovich Kolpenitskiy kagalnik is the first of the two signatures at the bottom. It's hard to make out the content of the document, but it seems to be a polite letter to someone and refers to the revision (census) of the Jewish community there.
