I would appreciate a translation of the comments on the back of this photograph. The boy is unknown. The surname I am researching is Katavushnik.

I did not want to send it to you but my ??? persisted I should put it into the letter he doesn't look the at all same! he says to me now they don't know me in ??? (santlier) they will think that I am so ugly as I look on the picture he thinks he is handsome
2/2/2017 8:20 PM The first translator did a fine job of deciphering one of the most difficult Yiddish scripts I've ever seen. I think I have figured out two places where this translation has question marks:

but my MOTHER-IN-LAW (SHVIGER) persisted [insisted that] I should put it into ....

they don't know me in ST LOUIS (Minnesota)... [the final letter is a samekh, not a resh]

Suggested rephrasing of the last sentence:

"...they'll think I'm as ugly as I look in the picture. (.) He considers himself handsome"
