A letter that Leopold GOLDSTEIN sent to his two brothers in New York. A translation as best as possible please. (There are three Hebrew letters after the salutation. I know what these are.)

Dear Isidor and Geza!
With heavy heart I'm letting you know that we no longer have a mother. She had complained lately that her strength was failing, but she did not report any pain. On April 13th she got a hernia with volvulus, but the doctors found her strong enough for surgery, and seemed to believe that recovery was possible. However, our blessed mother, although she was already in the hospital, did not give permission for the operation, and without that, the doctors could not touch her, and we had to watch helplessly as she died. She was conscious the whole time, and said she did not suffer; she was just very restless and apathetic. She had no wishes, she sent no messages, she was not curious about anything or anyone. Berta and I both spent time at her bedside. On the 19th, at about a quarter hour after midnight between Monday and Tuesday, she quietly fell asleep forever, calmly, and without any struggle. The well-attended burial was already on Tuesday afternoon; we put her at our blessed father's feet. Peter arrived during the funeral; he drove straight from the station to the cemetery, and when he arrived we were just lowering our dear deceased into the grave.
