This was at the end of a record of births for Lviv from 1897. It appears to have been added in the 1930s. I would appreciate knowing what it says. Thanks. - Mark

9/10/2015 5:22 AM A quick glance suggests that this entry corrects the date of birth for Chaim, the illegitimate son of Jenta Dwore Friedmann. The correct date was in 1898. The words before provide the month and day but I'd have to look up those words. Suzan Wynne
9/11/2015 9:49 AM I have also observed situations where a surname referenced the maternal grandmother's maiden name. The grandfather's surname was not used as married name of grandmother. In records for Kolomyya, one of my uncles is referenced as such while records for siblings reference mother with her maiden name. In all cases the father's name is ignored.
