11/18/2014 9:59 AM In the city and town of Chorzele on the 30 Jan/ 11 Feb 1852 appeared the Jew Abram (corrected from Berek) GUTMAN, day laborer age 26 in Chorzele born on the 22 Jan/3 Feb to the mother Estera z SYB...? Age 25 a son named Berek.
11/19/2014 5:22 AM No 9. Town of Chorzele. It came to pass in the Town of Chorzele on the eleventh day of February in the year of one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two at the hour of ten in the morning. Appeared personally orthodox Jew Abram* Gutman, a day labourer, twenty-six years of age, residing in Chorzele, and in the presence of witnesses, that is to say, Lewin Szczuciner, a coppersmith, fifty years of age, and Motel Nirenberg, a trader, fifty-two years of age, both of them residing in Chorzele, showed us a baby of sex male who had been born here in Chorzele on the third day of February of the current year at the hour of four in the morning to his spouse Estera nee Cytryn, twenty-five years of age. The said baby had been given the name Berek during the circumcision. The actual act was read aloud to the appearer and the witnesses and subsequently signed by the witnesses along with myself whereas the father of the baby, who presented himself, declared that he did not know how to write.

Lewin Szczuciner (signed in Polish)

Motel Nirenberg (signed in Polish)

NOTES: *Please not that the first name of the appearer was first recorded as Berek and it was only later that it was struck through by a civil registrar and the reference was added next to it to direct a reader to the following annotation at the margin: “I hereby attest that Abram Gutman was erroneously dictated as bearing the name Berek (signed)”.
