11/27/2014 8:18 AM Hi,
It says, "Here lies (illegible)
Yaakov (ie, Jacob ) Frei"
Underneath that is an inscription hidden by the stone. It begins Pe...
11/27/2014 7:54 PM The line hidden by the stone in the foreground contains the Hebrew words Ba-al Harakhamim which means "The master (or the lord) of mercy (or compassion)".
It comes from the prayer El Malei Rakhamim Said during funerals and memorial services; the bits of text on the next lines could be the prayer's next words:
L2: Yas(tireyhu besetter knafav)
L3: Le-o(lamim).

The text in parentheses is my guess based on the prayer.
You can see the full prayer here: http://yizkor.ort.org:8081/html/yizmemprayer_th.shtml
