What is the name of the seven year old male. He was subsequently called Mike/Michael.

10/27/2014 11:38 AM I suggest Meir, pronounced in Yiddish as Meyer or Ma-yer - and therefore written by the official phonetically as Mior.
10/29/2014 1:39 AM I think it may be Mick, particularly since he was later called Mike or Michael (his original name might have been Michel).

10/29/2014 9:44 AM It does say Mick. As others have said seeing as he was later called Michael this is consistent. Mick is a nickname for Michael. Perhaps his name was Mikel and that is how the enumerator heard what they said.
10/29/2014 4:37 PM I believe that it says "Mick." I agree that his name could have been Mechel / Michel & the enumerator wrote down what he believed he heard. It states at the bottom of the page that they are new to the colony, so their English may have been limited at that point.
