I would be grateful for any assistance in identifying the name of the town on the first line of this list that begins with, "Poland.R, ?" What I thought were obvious letter combinations do not approximate any obvious town in the JewishGen Town Finder database. I have included the other towns in this list as a reference guide to the handwriting of the census taker. They are all easily decipherable with the exception of the top name. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Thank you!

8/14/2014 9:12 AM It sure looks like "Cuncen." Since it was definitely in Poland at some point (are you sure the date was 1871?), I'd say either Chojnice (see JewishGen Communities) or Kunkowa (listed in the JewishGen Gazetteer).
