This appears to be the same image as my previous viewmate entry. Were they able to 'photoshop' the background out in the early 1900's? Does anyone have ability to know the range of years that Albert Hurdus practiced photography at 324 Grand St.? Thank you!

3/4/2014 12:47 AM Albert HURDUS is listed in NYC directories at 324 Grand from at least 1902 through 1918.

I'm certain that the photographer could have worked with the original photo (or a negative?) and created the solo portrait. Perhaps even photographing the original photo & cutting / pasting it onto a new background. I'm sure there are lots of ways to accomplish this.
