I took this picture whilst visiting Sered, the birthplace of my great grandfather and his family before him. I believe this to be the resting place for one of my ancestors, so would appreciate a translation please.

Many thanks

Sharon Gill

One of the abbreviations that appears at the beginning of lines 6 and 12, each time followed by a Hebrew name, is new to me an I can't translate it. Perhaps some one else will be able to help. Meantime, I can help with the rest. Jack

Line 1: Here lies ( two-letter abbreviation)
Line 2: the woman of importance, a woman of valor
Line 3: Miriam Weinberger, may she rest in peace
Line 4: née Ziedler, daughter of Yaacov
Line 5: died at age 70, on the 2nd of Cheshvan 5702 (i.e. 23 October 1941)
Line 6: [unknown abbreviation followed by the name Hindel], mourned by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Line 7: and her husband
Line 8: the beloved (treasured) man of importance
Line 9: Shimon, may he rest in peace,
Line 10: the son of Chaim Weinberger
Line 11: died at an old age and in the fullness of years, on the 5th of Tevet 5716 (I.e. 20 December 1955)
Line 12: [unknown abbreviation followed by the name Esther] mourned by his daughter, son- in-law and grandchildren.

Line 13: may her (his) (their) soul be bound in eternal life.

Good luck in filling in the blanks, j
8/21/2013 9:33 PM Sharon,
It just occurred to me that the two letter Hebrew abbreviation stands for Shem Ima (or Imo in the masculine)meaning the name of her or his mother.

Therefore, in line 6, the name of Miriam's mother was Hindel and in line 12, the name of Shimon's mother was Esther.

8/27/2013 8:01 AM preferred English spelling:
line 4: Zeidler
line 6: Hindl
line 12: grand-grandchildren
