My father graduated from Univeristy of Vienna medical school, 1937. This is the cover of a 32 page book containing acknowledgement of his course work. Could a kind soul translate "Meldungsbuch" for me? Google translates it as "Message Book".

5/23/2013 12:20 AM Meldungsbuch=message book: It is a book where the courses attended and examinations results have been noted before time of computer registration
5/23/2013 12:35 AM As the book contains acknowledgement of his course work I would assume it is comparable to the books of course records that also today every student at e.g. German universities has (or used to have until very recently).
"Meldung" means "report". "Inskribiert" means enrolled.
5/23/2013 4:31 AM The term is not used any more in contemporary university terminology. If the content inside the book contains the list of lectures attended and the signatures of the professors, this would constitute what is known now in American universities as transcript.

Perhaps that helps
