I have posted in ViewMate a (circa 1921) photograph of the Zagare Folk School.

I believe that my father Zvi (Hirsh/Girsh) SEGAL is in the top row, 10th from the left in the white outfit.

He left Zagare in 1929 for Australia where he joined his brother Aizyk and Uncle Henry Susman. He managed to get his mother Leah (nee Susman)and sister Malka out in 1935.

It would be wonderful to learn if someone can recognise a family member in this photograph of a community almost entirely wiped out in October 1941.

Warm regards,

Aron Segal

My grandfather came from Zagare and undoubtedly left many relatives behind so it is interesting for me to see that behind one of the teachers is a young boy who is the image of one of my brothers. A relative surely.
