I am hoping to get a direct translation of the Hebrew in this document. Specifically, I'd like to know the following:

Groom's Hebrew name
Bride's Hebrew name
Any other text that is in Hebrew

Also, I am having a hard time reading the English town name listed on the line that says "Native of". It looks like it may say "Koopeshok". I am unsure as to what town this might refer to.

Thanks in advance!

1/24/2013 12:07 AM Hello Peter,

Some additional information of you:

1) Marriage took place during the Hebrew month of Sivan.
2) The Hebrew word before the name of the bride is "betulah", which indicates that she is a never-before-married maiden.
3) The groom appears to be a native of what looks to me to be Koopeshok. It is possible that this is in a country other than England. Try the Town-Finder in JewishGen. I checked this spelling for you, and using the Soundex system of word recognition, there are five towns listed. Make sure that you take a look at each town and all three of the time related columns for each. This is because there were many pollitical and country changes during those periods of time, with many variations of spellings and pronounciations. If you need help with this, feel free to e-mail me.

I think that you might find what you need....Jo

The hometown of the groom is the Lithuanian shtetl of Kupiskis.

Hope this has helped you.
