Ida, wife of Nathan Chorny is listed in this naturalisation application.
Please help me to read the name of her home town in Russia before she went to USA in 1912.
Where was it?
A family story is that she came from Mol, but I cannot find such a place. Her husband is more likely to have known, in 1920, than her descendants many years later.

They married Philadelphia in 1918. Ancestry lists her name as Manervitz. License no. 388368.

12/18/2012 7:01 AM It looks like Chatzemeh to me. Remember, however, that the name could be the Yiddish name, the Russian name the Ukrainian name, the Lithuanian name... Try the jewishgen gazeteer.
12/19/2012 2:11 AM My reading of the town name is something like Chatzemsk, which would be phonetically more likely to be Russian. I couldn't find it in the Gazetteer or by searching in Google Russian, however.
