Could a very kind person please translate the Hebrew inscription of this headstone of my great grandfather's brother, Reuben Cohen? They came from the Ukraine in the early 1900s and settled in London.

Thanks,
Robyn from Sydney, Australia

Reuven son of Zvi the Cohen

5/28/2012 1:57 AM Hello Robyn,

In addition to the previous person's response, the
last line of Hebrew letters stands for the acronym which translates to: "My the soul be bound up in the bonds of eternal life"....Jo

ע'ש'ק is the abbreviation for erev shabos kodesh
which loosely translates to (friday)the day before shabbos
so the translation of the 2nd line is as follows
passed away on erev shabbos. the 2nd day of Nisan
5/30/2012 6:51 AM The 2nd of Nisan, 5689 is 12 April 1929, indeed a Friday.
The two hands on the top of the stone point to the fact that the deceased was a cohen.
