I am trying to learn anyuthing I can about a letter sent to my late father, including who sent the letter. There are four pages. This is page 1.

no, unfortunately I'm not able to read this letter, yet.- But perhaps it is possible, to make a new and better scan and send it unsharpened to me?
You're right, the letter is written in very German style, and if I'm right (very uncertain!!!) the text begins with:
"dayn post kartel, un di brief vos host bezamen tsushikt tsu dayne libe elterin hob ikh erhalten. mikh frayt zeyer vos bist tsufriden mit der reyze nokh amerike/
do in russland host du gor nit...."
By the way, I'm not sure, if the 4th page really is the last page of the letter.
