I just received this letter from the Rivne Archives in response to my request for information about my grandfather and g-grandfather.

Because of the brevity of the response I'm not too hopeful it contains any information I am seeking, but would appreciate a word by word translation. It is probably written in Ukrainian, although it could be Russian.

Yes, it's Ukrainian, not Russian. There's a negative response to your query alright but it's possible that the last para is referring you to another possible source of information (another archive)

The letter is in Ukrainian which I do not read as comfortably as Russian, but in principle it says that they could not find anything. Possibly it says that they have a collection of documents of those who emigrated before 1879. It is signed by the Director of the Archive in Rivne.

Archive informs you that they did not receive metric books for Jewish population of town of Ostrog for a given time frame, so they cannot perform a serach for you. They also would like to inform you that Archive did not find any documents about emigration of your families to Hungary in 1879.
