In Liebe immer
Deine Tante Jenny

We are also very afraid for you all, we feel a great longing. I am sure you will come one day to Germany once you get through the school in Chicago, I mean all the classes, maybe then you will come over with Aunt Staller. I send you my greetings and embrace you in thought. Your letter only just arrived. How is Bertram and also your sister Ellen? My heartfelt greetings to all.
Your ever loving Aunt Jenny.

We are longing for you all and worry. I am sure, that one day, after you have finished school in Chicago, I mean graduated, you could come with your aunt Stella to visit us here. I greet you and hug you in thought. Your letter arrived only now. How are Bertram and your sister Ellen? I heartily greet all of you. In love always your aunt Jenny?

Meine geliebte Tochter Lucile!

My dearest daughter Lucile!
I have not in a long, long time written anything so slowly as today to you. But receiving your beautiful letter made me so happy, that I will do it just for you. .....
(It looks like he was not really her uncle, but her father, and that the girl went with her mother and her second husband to the States??? He adresses her twice as daughter?)

My beloved daughter Lucile,
It is certainly a very very long time since I last wrote to you so slowly. However my joy over your so lovely letter is such that I willingly /bring you this offering/ make this sacrifice to you.
