This document was issued to my late Mother by the Vienna IKG on the date shown, before she migrated from Vienna to the UK. I think I know what it represents - maybe a training course she had to complete. But I'd welcome another opinion, especially the hand-written word after "Lehrgang fur....". Many thanks!

7/8/2010 12:58 AM It is a certificate after a training course. The handwritten word is the verb 'Servieren' which means that your mother had trained to be a waitress. Her study results as proven by the exam were 'sehr gut', that is very good.
Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Heleen Sittig

7/8/2010 6:46 AM The training course was given by the Vienna Kehilah, Emigration division, Department of Vocational Training and Carreer Change. I assume that this kind of training was given to poeple who wanted to emigrate to Palestine. The certificate is dated 27 June 1939, a time when the Nazis were encouraging Jews to emigrate, and Jewish organizations were involved in this effort.
