Certificate
By decree of His Imperial Majesty, this certificate issued by Ufa Crafts council to petty bourgeoisie (this is the social class of most town dwellers) of Kovno Jewish society Shmuel Itsko Kabachnik, who was regestered into Ufa guild as the master of clock craft on June 20, 1888, that he, Kabachnik, has permission to practice his craft till his passport expires, i.e. till October 17 of the current year. Which is certified by the signature and the application of an official press on March 14, 1890.

Based on this certificate, we can say that Shmuel Itsko lived in Kovno (modern Kaunas, Lithuania) or at least was assigned to Kovno Jewish society before moving to Ufa, Bashkirostan, Russia about 1888.
