11/16/2022 3:06 PM Rosse:

Here lies Mrs. RAYNEH daughter of Reb Natan Nateh

She passed away 1 Elul 5698. May her soul be bound up in the bond of life

--------------------------------------------------
'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Her name might have been pronounced RYE-neh rather than RAY-neh.

Her father had a double Hebrew name. Natan is Hebrew for Nathan. Nateh is a Yiddish version of this name.

The 1st of Elul, 5698, began at sunset on August 27, 1938, and ended at sunset on the 28th.

====================================================
Jacob:

Here lies Mr. Yaakov son of Reb Yehudah

He passed away 22 Shvat 5698. May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

Again, 'Reb' does not mean rabbi.

Yaakov is Hebrew for Jacob; Yehudah is Hebrew for Judah.

The 22nd of Shvat, 5698, began at sunset on January 23rd, 1938, and ended at sunset on the 24th.
